The security and privacy of your data is important to us. To summarise, the only personal data collected is the minimum necessary for the purpose of the booking process and follow up. No data will be processed for any other any reason than what it was collected for to assist the smooth booking process of holidays and future holidays. No data will be disseminated

to commercial third parties nor sold or rented out.

Keeping your data safe

We apply, what we consider, to be the best IT practices for the most secure system in order for data to remain secure. Purple Dog Company is a privately-owned business and all data collected is owned and controlled by the business. In some instances, for the purpose of marketing or the fulfilment of holidays, there is legitimate reason to send client data to third parties. Contracts are in place with these third-party companies meaning there is no unlawful use of the data. Companies we currently work with may include delivery companies such as Royal Mail and travel companies – in these cases, we would only pass on data necessary for task fulfilment.

 

 

What information do we collect?

Information that you provide to us when registering on our website, on the telephone, in person, or through the post includes the following:

 

  • Contact information including full name, address, telephone number and email address.

  • Information relating to the booking of your holiday, including where you wish to travel
    to, what brochure you have ordered and details of past bookings, enquiries and your feedback.

  • We will also record details of others travelling with you, dietary or medical requirements, passport number, your insurance policy, date of birth, nationality and country of residence.

 

 

We use software tools such as Google Analytics to collect activity via our website for marketing purposes. We look at the following, but not exclusive to the channel the website was entered by, if an enquiry was made, session duration and pages visited.

 

Telephone information including phone numbers and call duration that we use for training and quality control.

 

 

What we do with the information we gather

All of the data collected and stored is done so for legitimate reasons including fulfilling our booking process, auditing and record keeping.

 

From time to time, we may send out emails with offers and new products which we think to be of legitimate interest to those who have booked or enquired with us before (if ticked on our form). Unless asked to unsubscribe from our mailing list, clients who have booked with us will receive these emails for 5 years and those who enquired, but never booked for 3.

 

From time to time, we will send out brochures and gifts in the post to clients who we believe are the most suitable to receive them. There is a clear way to unsubscribe from receiving this collateral - please email enquiry@purpledogcompany.com for further information. If provided, we will contact you by email, phone or mail unless requested otherwise.

 

 

Your rights

Data may at any point be removed from the database or from marketing activity if requested. We have legitimate reasons to keep information about the holiday booking, but we will remove all connection with the client from the booking.
